There’s a poem that lives in my mind
An image, a moment, a fantasy?
But I know it so well
The colour of the sky at 7.00pm
The Blue of night
Blue before it’s night black
You and I on a rooftop
I know this moment
It’s a poem that’s lived in my mind
It’s just the details I don’t have yet
Will I be in a dress do you think?
Sometimes I wear a heavy leather jacket in this poem
I know there’s a breeze
But I don’t know, is it your jacket?
Do you give me your jacket to wear?
Do I have my back pressed against your chest?
What is it that you whisper?
There’s a drink on the ledge
I wonder what you were drinking?
Do your hands stray inside the jacket?
The jacket that is on me
Do we watch the stars come out?
Are you a moon person?
I hope you are a moon person
Do we just look at the world below?
Or does the world just disappear?
And it’s just us
And kisses on rooftops
